Chantika is a private mantra and japa counter for iOS. It helps you count chants quietly using tap, volume buttons, and experimental voice counting — without an account or cloud sync.
Chantika is preparing for its iOS launch on the App Store. Android is planned later. Check back on this site for the store link once it is live.
No. Chantika has no servers and no accounts, and it never records, stores, or uploads your audio. Voice recognition is performed by your phone's built-in speech service, and your practice data stays on your device.
Voice counting is experimental. It supports a curated set of mantras with forgiving repeated-chant matching and works best in quiet environments with consistent chanting. Tap and volume-button counting are available as a fallback when voice detection is unreliable.
Yes. Chantika supports volume-button counting so you can keep your eyes closed and stay focused on your practice.
Yes. Chantika is designed for offline use. Your practice history stays on-device and does not require an internet connection.
No. Active chanting sessions are never interrupted by ads. The free version shows ads outside of practice; Chantika Plus removes ads entirely.

Yes. Chantika supports japa, jaap, naam jap, Buddhist dharanis, meditation, and general repetitive prayer practice across traditions.
No. Chantika is a spiritual wellness counter and practice-tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions.
Use volume-button counting. The screen stays on while your eyes stay closed — keep the phone in your hand or pocket and press the volume-up button once per chant. It works in traffic, on trains, in crowded temples, and anywhere voice counting would be unreliable.
